Apollo Counseling offers a variety of counseling options. Apollo works with most private health insurance, in addition to Military Insurances and Medicaid to provide private mental health counseling to individuals. Apollo will also work with couples and parents and children to help work through issues that affect more than just the individual, but those surrounding them and closest to them.
In addition to Individual counseling, Apollo offers group counseling as well as participates in Employee Assistance Programs to help businesses better support their employees.
Licensed Mental Health Couselor (LMHC), James Bustamante, MA, LMHC, LPHA to provide the individual therapy sessions as well as to supervise the clinical services at Apollo Counseling. James has over fifteen years of experience in both mental health and social services. James Graduated from Webster University with a Master's of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology. He also possesses over seventy credits towards his PhD in Psychology and is looking towards finishing this in the near future. James has been licensed with the Iowa Bureau of Professional Licensure as an LMHC since 1999. James has sat as a board member for local social service agencies in the past and is still active in helping communities. James is bilingual and offers therapy and assessment in Spanish as well as other counseling services as a bilingual provider. James has previous work experience dealing with families involved with the Department of Human Services as well as Remedial Services and Iowa's Waiver Services. James has been a part of and advocate for Iowa's 0-3 program, as well as other children's services. James loves his work and is devoted to helping others. Dance and Movement Therapist (BC-DMT), Ashley Ostroski MA, NCC, BC-DMT to provide individualized and group counseling options using the techniques and applications from Dance and Movement Therapy. Dance and Movement Therapy, otherwise known as DMT is a form of Expressive and Creative Arts Therapy. Ashley is the only actively practicing and Board Certified DMT in the State of Iowa. Ashley attended Simpson College in Indianola, IA for her undergrad in Sociology and Drexel University in Philidephia, PA for her Master's of Arts degree in Dance and Movement Therapy. Ashley has taken and been approved by the NBCC as a Nationally Certified Counselor and is expecting to be Independently Licensed in the State of Iowa sometime early 2011. Ashley continues her study of DMT by attending the National Organizations Annual Conferences and other trainings pertaining to her field of expertise. Ashley is also designated to be able to supervise anyone interested in becoming a DMT through Alternative Training and traditional studies. Drama Therapist, (RDT Alternative Training Student), Erin McNamara BS, MPH to provide individualized and group counseling options using the techniques and applications from Drama Therapy and Psychodrama. Board Registered Drama Therapist, otherwise referred to as RDT's, are Expressive and Creative Arts therapists. Erin is currently in process to finish her Master's of Science in Professional Counseling (summer 2011) and is a Student through Kansas State University for the Alterntive Training Program for Drama Therapy. Erin attends Summer intenstive Graduate level courses in Manahttan, KS through K-State as well as attends National Conferences and trainings to further her experience and application techniques of the Theatre in Counseling. Currently there is only one other actively working Nationally registered RDT in Iowa. Erin will be the second Registered Drama Therapist in the State. While Erin is in process for her RDT, she may practice while under supervision by a Board Certified Drama Therapist as well as a local Licensed Practitioner.
