Apollo Counseling offers a number of community based supports and home based services to children and adults working towards recovery of their mental health and disability. Apollo is a unique Recovery based program that combines traditional HCBS services with our Remedial Services program. The purpose of this is to work on the daily skills and issues that individuals with disabilities face as well as to work on and develop theraputic interventions to support and assist in the coping and managing of their mental health symptoms.
Apollo firmly believes that if a person, regardless of their intellectual functioning and communication abilities, has the right and ability to recover from the mental health symptoms of their disability. In using Remedial Services with other services Apollo is able to treat and address the underlying mental health symptoms that lead to the decrease and limitations on functioning in the community and at home independently. Once This can be addressed, the daily living skills fall into place naturally. This results in increased confidence, increased awarness and participation in activities, increased quality of life, decrease in depression and anxiety, decrease in the reliance on 24 hour services and supports, decreased need for funding over time.
Apollo works to eliminate traditional service barriers that interfere with the individuals ability to progress and access natural community supports and opportunities to connect with others as well as to achieve their true potential.
Apollo Counseling offers advocacy to all clients and potential clients. This may including working with case managers and county officials, family members, gaurdians, and conservators, as well as any other funding or legal sources. Apollo is not a legal representative. In the event legal representation is required Apollo will assist in the search and referral process.
Apollo is unique in that it offers Crisis intervention and support by a licensed mental health professional 24 hours a day. This includes making phone calls or even 1:1 intervention for the individual, family, and staff to help manage crisis situations and decrease the incidence of hospitalizations, probation violations, self harm, and loss of services.
